Whether it was a advertisment you saw in the paper or a past fund-raising campaign you'd like to see again, some of the Taxpayers League's best work comes when we fire up our network of grassroots activists.
What's Another $11 Billion in TAXES?
This November 4th, you will have the opportunity to tell the tax-and-spenders in St. Paul that Minnesotans don't want another $11 billion in taxes. The "No Constitutional Tax Increase" campaign has kicked off to inform Minnesotans about the truth behind the tax grab.
The ballot question will ask if you want to increase the state sales tax by another almost half a cent in order to Constitutionally dedicate money to the arts, outdoors, and cultural heritage. Don't go into the voting booth without getting all the facts on this scheme that will allow lawmakers to side-step the real question of how they spend the $27 billion a year we give them now.
Wanted Out of Office: The Override Six who you can Thank for $6.6 Billion in Higher Taxes
Last spring we saw Governor Pawlenty veto a $6.6 billion tax increase. Thanks to all the Democrats in the House and the Override Six, the veto was overriden and we're paying higher gas taxes, license fees, new car taxes, and sales taxes.
We were fighting against them at this April's Tax Cut Rally. To send a message to St. Paul that Minnesotans want the legislature to prioritize spending instead of just keep raising taxes, vote in the Primary Election Sept 9th, and the General Election Nov 4th against the Override Six!
